After studying Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University Leigh worked in animation, including projects for Channel 4 and ITV.
Following a career in teaching Leigh is now a ‘full time’ jewellery designer and maker.
The designs featured here were inspired by a desire to recycle or preferably ‘upcycle’ objects to create new pieces.
...Tiles
The pendants available to purchase are made with vintage Scrabble and Mah Jong tiles.
Scrabble tiles are made of wood and measure approx 2cm x 1.7cm
Mah Jong tiles are made of cow bone dovetailed onto bamboo. The tiles measure approx. 2.4cm x 1.7cm x 0.9cm. please note that these tiles are handmade so variations in size do occur.
Every tile pendant is unique and so may not match exactly the image shown. The image below shows the many variations of tiles. When making each pendant Leigh selects tiles at random so the one purchased may not be the same as the one photographed.
...Designs
Each piece is carefully collaged with high quality papers. Leigh uses
Japanese silk screened papers known as ‘chiyogami paper’
postage stamps
or hand marbled Italian paper.
...Necklaces
Scrabble tile pendants are hung on 18” sterling silver ball chains.
Mah jong necklaces are hung on approx 17” or 18” (approx 43cm or 46cm) beaded necklaces. The clasps are sterling silver. Leigh mixes the bead colours herself, ensuring each necklace complements the pendant design.

Paypal is used for payment processing. If you don’t have a Paypal account this isn’t a problem as credit and debit cards can be processed using this system.
